Spacers

Spacers, also known as unthreaded sleeves or separators, keep components in an assembly spaced apart by preventing them from sliding along the rod or fastener that connects them. Depending on the material they are made from, they can isolate components electrically or allow room for heat to dissipate inside an assembly. Decorative spacers are used in the installation of signs, artwork, and other wall-mounted fixtures.
